Don't Tread On Me.

Image
No weapon Formed against me Shall prosper Don’t tread on me. [Don’t Tread on Me by We the Kingdom] I was literally singing this song in the shower, and this message was planted right smack dab in my mind. So prepare your hearts for this God-given message y’all !! If ya haven’t already, go listen to it. It’s good + gritty and makes me wanna beat up satan. Anyways… [lol] Everyday, your heart + mind is attacked by the enemy. just let this fact sink in for a moment. right now there is battle between the Holy Spirit, and your flesh. He uses certain distractions, or weapons to get a foothold in your life, and ultimately pull you away from your heavenly Father. Now, ask yourself this question :: What are the weapons that the enemy uses in my life? seriously. stop what you are doing right now. look up from your phone and think. open your notes and write down what or who the enemy is using to distract you from God. The first thing that popped up in my head was the rechargeable, black screen tha...

Undecided.

Am I the only one who muttered the word, undecided , to their guidance counselor about what I want to be/do after high school? It feels pretty lonely in this little undecided bubble of mine, but there was a lesson laid on my heart recently, that I feel the need to share... because something tells me that I'm not the only one who has no idea what they want to do for the rest of their life. So. lately, I've been doing some career research, and mostly digging into the topic of genetics.  Why? well... I took a few career assessments and the career, geneticist  just kept popping back up. so, what did I do? I hopped in my car, drove to the library, and picked out four ginormous books solely based on the concept of genetics. I whipped out the first book: genetics for dummies [of course], and began to read. However... it wasn't that easy. I had barely finished the first chapter without beginning to think about other things that I needed to do, write down, or just random thought...

The prodigal son.

“[20] So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. [21] The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven in your sight. I’m no longer worthy to be called you son.’ [22] “But the father told his servants, ‘Quick! Bring out the best robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. [23] Then bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let;s celebrate with a feast, [24] because this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!” [luke 15:20-24] I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard the story of the prodigal son, but if you have never heard of it, I am honored to be the first person to tell you a lil’ bit about it. :) I have an interesting story that goes along with this passage of scripture, so just relax, sit down in a nice comfy chair, maybe get a cup o’ coffee, and soak in ...

The Truth I'm Standing On.

Image
My rock, my shield, my firm foundation, I know I will not be shaken, you remind me where my help comes from this is the truth I’m standing on. [Truth I’m Standing on] by Leanna Crawford Wassup guys. I am honored to share a lesson that God has been teaching me lately, right where he placed me.  Right where he planned for me to be before I was formed in my mother’s womb [psalm 139:16]. How ground-breaking is that truth?  That alone would be enough for y’all to sit and chew on. Anyway... let’s get to the heart of this message. [Also, feel free to whip out your handy dandy Bible and flip to the verses of scripture mentioned :)] Idk about you, but sometimes I feel purposeless and forget why I’m here. now, I’m not saying that sometimes I get suicidal, but I’m saying that I just forget what God says. and the opposite of forgetting is remembering. God has taught me the importance of remembering his truth because if you're not remembering, you're forgetting. As for me,  I n...

Christ makes the difference.

For anyone who...  is struggling in their quiet time with God & having discipline in many, if not all areas of their life, doesn’t know where to start in reading the bible Feels overwhelmed//confused when it comes to reading the bible ...this post is for you.  I TOTALLY get you. You are not alone. I have struggled with all of these things, and am still learning that Christ’s grace is enough for me (2 Corinthians 12:9). So. Let’s jump right in, shall we? A lesson I’ve learned several times is how to CONSISTENTLY spend time with Jesus. I have struggled and still struggle with making time for the Lord. I’ve lost discipline and the drive to get up every morning, and I’ve also forgotten the importance of dying to your flesh every morning, truly putting Jesus first, and inviting him into every area of your life, not just one.  We can’t live a fruitful, joyful life without Jesus. “I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit...
